PassGen — Password Generator

PassGen is a browser extension that generates strong passwords and fills them into login forms. Your privacy is fundamental to how it works.

DATA COLLECTION PassGen does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third parties.

DATA STORAGE All data stays on your device, inside your browser's local storage. This includes:

  • Your generator settings (length, character sets, custom symbols)

  • Your theme preference (light / dark / system)

  • Optional password history (max 15 entries)

Password history is optional and can be disabled or cleared at any time from the History tab. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.

PERMISSIONS

  • storage: save your settings, theme, and optional history locally.

  • activeTab: access the current tab only when you click "Fill".

  • scripting: insert the generated password into the focused field on demand.

  • contextMenus: add the right-click "Generate & fill password" option.

The extension never sends any information over the network.
